Blame the Fish Oil
I'm double-blind with rage over this study. Since when is anger a symptom? It's a desperately needed and embarrassingly absent public resource.
Tha angryman is officially boycotting fish.
Omega-3’s foster the growth of neurons in the brain’s frontal cortex, the bit of gray matter that controls impulsive behavior. Having enough of these fatty acids may keep violent impulses in check. Violent criminals may not be the only ones who would benefit from more fatty acids in their diet. In a recent double-blind trial, when omega-3’s were given to people with a history of substance abuse, the symptoms of ‘anger’ fell by 50 percent. Full Story

Symptoms OF anger... not the anger symptom.
I wish I had a transcript of Dr. Phil's recent episode where he went on about anger being the result of a 'victim' type syndrome and the way out was to take control of the situation and do something constructive about it. Or something to that effect.
Hopefully, you won't get angry at me (or worse, demonstrate mean symptoms of anger towards me) for nitpicking and mentioning Dr Phil, a TV subset of one of your angry fave's, Oprah.
Go Tampa Bay!!!
Having discovered this blog through the monkey chow project, I couldn't help but find the connection between primates and rage ironic. Perhaps if everyone had more Omega-3 fatty acids, the events in 28 Days Later would never have occured.
Its interesting that they say that Omega-3 fatty acids foster the growth of neurons.
I presume they mean the growth of dendrites and axon terminals (the stuff on neurons that connects them together).
If they mean the replacement of neurons with new ones, unless they mean olfactory neurons they're pretty much full of shit.
is it against the rules to enhance the flavour of Chow? What if you were to receive/create some Chow recipes? You want a hot meal right?
Creative Chow.
Hmmm... My psychiatrist prescribed that I take 3 huge omega 3 oil pills/day for my slight bipolar disorder... but now I wonder if he's trying to keep me off the Adderall because I mentioned I was inattentive a lot. Also I'd like to add that he said there are less instances of mood disorders in countries that eat a lot of cold-water fish. Just correlational, not causal, is what I think. Wonder how many psychiatrists they have in those countries anyway. Well, just a random thought, good luck with the final couple of days of monkey chow!
